Wigs are still an integral part of court attire when attending court in the UK. This article explains how to measure your head for a Barrister's wig to ensure a comfortable fit.
Barrister's wigs sit approximately an inch from the top of your eyebrows, which means that you want to take a circumference measurement of your head starting from here and going over the top of your ears, and down to the back of your head.
So using a soft measuring tape, wrap the measuring tape around and pinch the end of the tape to get the measurements. Don't make it too tight otherwise your wig will squeeze you.
If your wig is somewhere between two measurements then it's probably better to go for the slightly larger size on the wig. Most wigs have got a drawstring back, which means that you can adjust it so it's comfortable. And that's how you measure your head for a wig.
